Removing Household Shoe Odour

There are many everyday household odours that can create a less-than-positive atmosphere. One of those foul smells that are really embarrassing come from shoes.

If the pungent smell of a fish cooked in the kitchen makes you feel bad enough, the stench of a smelly shoe can certainly make you feel sicker. So if your sweat glands in the feet are just too overactive, and your smelly shoes have become like a bad air freshener inside your home, guess it is about time that you correct the problem before it becomes a cause of social embarrassment.

There are many remedies to shoe odours, and many of which actually comes in the form of household products. Among them are baking soda and vinegar. Sprinkling baking soda or spraying vinegar (mixed with water) on your shoe after use will help eliminate sweat and bacteria that cause odour. Doing so will keep your shoes clean and ready for another day of work and fun.

Another way to prevent smelly shoes from fouling your room is to store them properly. Immediately after wearing, place your shoes in warm, dry place. This will help reduce the development of interior shoe moisture, which promote odour-causing bacteria to grow. Allow your shoes to rest and dry up for at least 10 hours before wearing them again. It is beast that you have several pair of shoes available so you do not have to wear the same pair for two days in a row. Doing so will help prevent the build up of moisture and give your shoes the time to dry completely. Also, when storing a smelly pair of shoes, find a place where the stink can be contained and prevented from spreading to the whole house.
