Driving requires someone to wear sensible footwear and while it may sound obvious, driving in high heel stilettos isn't very wise. Some people like to drive barefoot but the best type of footwear for driving is probably a pair of flat soled trainers. This gives someone full control of the pedals eliminating the chances of slippage and entanglement. When someone is test driving used cars wearing something comfortable on their feet is essential. Not all vehicles are the same and it can take a few minutes to get used to the position of the pedals as well as the biting point on a clutch. This isn't as important if someone is test driving a vehicle which has automatic transmission but most vehicles have manual gearboxes. Some people have a pair of shoes that they specifically use for driving and it's not difficult to keep the shoes that someone actually wants to wear on the back seat and then change into them when someone has reached their destination.

Flat soled trainers aren't suitable for every occasion and this type of footwear doesn't go well with a business suit or an elegant dress. Once someone is driving however nobody has to know what they're wearing on their feet and that's why having a comfortable pair of shoes in a vehicle that can be worn while someone is driving may be a good idea. Most women love shoes and they may have anything from a few pairs to a few dozen pairs taking up space in a wardrobe. Footwear makes a big fashion statement and while it needs to be comfortable it also has to be stylish and elegant. The vehicles we drive also say something about our personalities and that's why when someone is searching for a suitable second hand vehicle they often have to test drive lots of models until they find one they want.
